These colorful lights are called auroras.

The South Pole is colder than the North Pole. It can get as cold as -89°C. Brrr! The land of the South Pole is called ‘Antarctica.’ Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and highest continent. A glistening ice sheet covers nearly all of Antarctica. The higher you climb in Antarctica, the colder the air gets. No people live in the Antarctic. But scientists stay there to study. They watch how Antarctica is changing. And you can find lots of penguins standing upright. They look like handsome gentlemen. But penguins comically waddle when they walk.
